  • Users must not attempt to gain unauthorised access.

Conditions of Forum, Wiki and Sites Use

Content creation and courses that make use of asynchronous and/or synchronous discussion areas on RPS iSchool do so in order to assist its participants in exchanging views and discussing course materials. Content creation is also used on iStudent's Sites facility where users can create fully user-managed websites. Please observe the following rules and guidelines when posting content and adding comments.

  1. Users are reminded that text, images and other information created by third parties will be subject to the laws of copyright, and that this includes material found elsewhere on the Internet. Content posted must not include such material without the copyright owner's permission, and links to other sites should comply with those sites' conditions for such links.

  2. Use of inappropriate language and material will not be permitted.  Users must not use obscene, profane, lewd, vulgar, rude, inflammatory, threatening or disrespectful language.  Users must not use iSchool or iStudent to post material that is profane or obscene (pornography) or that advocates illegal acts or violence or discrimination toward others.

  3. Users are expected to respect the right to privacy of others. Users must not repost a message that was sent to them privately without permission of the person who sent the message. Nor must users post private information about another person or post contact information (eg. address, phone number) about any other person. Any contact or receipt of any message a user feels uncomfortable about should be reported to the iSchool/iStudent administrators or the course teachers immediately.

  4. Administrators and course teachers reserve the right to remove messages and content at their discretion. In addition, an entry may be moved to another area of the discussions if, in the view of the course teacher, the item is more relevant to that area.

  5. Users should use forum or wiki facilities to report messages to the moderator(s) where they appear to conflict with these conditions.  Alternatively, please contact the administrators or the course teachers by email.

  6. The use of the Internet is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use will result in cancellation of those privileges. The administration, teachers, and/or staff may request that the iSchool and iStudent administrators, or IT Services Administration to deny, revoke, or suspend specific user access.
